Information I have indicates Rev. John Cotton was bapt. 4 Dec 1585, Derby on River, Derwent, England; married (1) Elizabeth Horrock; 2) Sarah Hawkredd: d. Boston, MA 23 Dec 1652. Is this the John Cotten you are researching? His father was Rowland/Roland Cotton, bapt 17 Mar 1587 at Advent, England; married 16 Aug 1582 at Derby, England, to Mary Hurlburt; and he died 1604 at Derby. 4 children (John, Mary, Roland, Thomas). Roland was an attorney, the son of George and Margaret (Whittacre) Cotton.
