The Rev. William Cotton wrote his will c. 1640 and died before 1642. In his will, he mentioned that he wanted to be buried next to his two infant children, that his estate would go to his yet unborm child, if not then to his mother, Joane cotton, Bunbury parish, Cheshire. The unborn child turned out to be Verlinda Cotton, who would have been born somtime in 1640-41. She lived and married Thomas Burdett in 1658. And they had issue, etc. The widow, Ann Graves Cotton, remarried two more times after William's death. Currently, I am working on proving the ancestry of the REv. William. I'm close but do not have the grandfather's name, etc. Good luck.
