I have the following information on the father of Weaver Cotton:

Richard Cotton was born About 1718, and died about 1789 in Surry or Sussex Co., Va. He married Betty (Travis) (Weaver)
Children of Richard Cotton and Betty (Weaver) are:
1. Salley Cotton, b Jan. 12, 1747/48, Sussex Surry Co, Va.; married Daniel Ivy
2. Seth Cotton, b. Nov. 1, 1750, Sussex Co.,m Va. D Chathan City, N,.C. ; Married Rebeka or Rebecca (?)
3. Harris Cotton, b. Aug. 25, 1753 Sussex Co., Va.; married Diedamia Saunders, Aug. 18, 1789
4. Rebeca (Becky) Cotton, b March 29, 1756, Sussex Co., Va.
5. Archibald Cotton, b. Feb 28, 1759
6. Jane (Gincy) Cotton, b April 14m, 1762
7. Cary Cotton, b March 12, 1765
8. Weaver Cotton, b. July 2, 1768
9. William Cotton, born July 2, 1768 (Twins)
married Aggy Steart
