From the National Enquirer Magazine

TV legend Gale Storm, best known as the perky star of the 1950's classic "My Little Margie", died on June 27, 2009 plagued by painful memories of her terrible struggle with the demon alcohol.
Fans were stunned to discover the twice-widowed mother of four was a secret boozer when she first detailed her personal hell in her autobiography "I Ain't Down yet"
"During the 1970's I experienced a terribly low and painful time of dealing with alcohol" Storm who passed away at age 87 in a convalescent hospital in Danville, California, wrote on her personal web site.
In 1979 ,Storm ,who was born Josephine Cottle, finally underwent successful detox treatment in Raleigh Hills Hospital in Oxnard, California , after being in and out of a number of other programs.
She once told a reporter that hiding her decades of addiction "was the best acting job I ever did"
