My wife is a descendant of John Cottier/John II/ Thomas/ John Thomas/Hugh/Dorothy/Leslie(my wife). Last year, we visited John's grave in the Bride churchyard, IOM. I have some different info than you.
John I 1749 - 2/8/1823 & Catherine Lace (Lacey?) 1741 - 3/12/1830: 5 children
John II 1784 - 1847 & Catherine Callow 1802 - 1887: 10 children
Thomas C. Cottier 1829 - 1899 & Minerva Bella Beeler 1824 - 1898: 7 children
John Thomas Cottier 1854 - 1927 & Cora Ethel Ferrin 1862 -1956: 8 children
Hugh Montgomery Cottier 1883 - 1957 & Flora Belle Meyer 1883 - 1962: 8 children (moved family from Holt Co. to Auburn AL)
Dorothy Cottier 1923 -
I hav a clue that John's father might be William. I am pursuing this lead.
My sources are GONE HOME; Kirk Bride, a miscellany; and headstones in churchyard.
