Hi Sam and Dennis. I hope that you do periodically access this message board. I dought that I have any more information than you, so this note is by way of a thank you for providing some missing links and corroborating some of my reseach. My grandmother was a Mary Cotterell born Westbury on Trym in 1886 to William and Isabells Cotterel. I had traced her line back to a Joseph Cotterell born in 1761 who outlived his son and probably his wife, as neither appear on the census reports. So thank you Dennis as you have provided me with his sons name Joseph and birth date and also the maiden name of his mother Mary Ann Lee.
The only bit of personnal information that I possess is that my grandmother kept in touch with a Daisy Cotterell, a daughter of Williams second marraige who had moved to New Zealand.
I do not know the maiden name of Joseph the youngers wife whose first name I beleive to be Sarah. Have either of you come across her details.
If you have any particular questions I just might have some data. Still I feel a bit of a fraud in some ways as I have done all my work from the computer and clearly you two have done some real field work.
