There is another part of the family that spells and pronounces their name COTA. They even have a page in GenForum.

For anyone interested, some of your word-processing software allows you to type the French accents. Use the "Alt" keyboard. Hold down Alt and type numbers on the keypad to the right. You may need the "NumLock" function on. So, for example Alt + 130 = é, and Alt + 147 = ô. Côté looks so much nicer.

By the way, our original North-American ancestor signed his name "Costé". It was shortly after that time that the "s" faded away.
