Paul, Thank you for this great and helpfull reply. I don't have too many Cote's in my direct lines. With your help, I now believe that I have this line going to Abraham Cote and Francoise Genevieve Loisel married in 1606 in France, all cleared up. Four of my great grandparents were Lavoies and my father was a Manseau. Thanks once again. Janet
