You might want to try to order this thru you local library. It is a very important book for early Baja genealogical records. Since so many of the early records were destroyed or lost. As the 'story' goes even many of these records collected for this book can no longer be found. Guia Familiar de Baja California, 1700-1900, by Pablo L. Martinez, printed 1965. This book is out of print and almost impossible to find to purchase. The last time we tried to buy one, $250.00. I mention this because there are over 27 entries (lucked out here) on Legaspi and hundreds for Cota. The index only lists surnames, not given names, so it is a very time consuming to work it. Sometimes the grandparents on the bap are listed but it did not find that to be the case for the children of your Jesus & Amada. BUT if you take the time to check marriages for their children, the grandparents may be listed on those records. AND the index only lists the male surname of the entry, soooooo if the bride was Legaspi (a daughter) then it would not show up on the index. You almost have to read it like a book. To save time, if you are comfortable with sending me your mailing address, I can make copies of the Legaspi pages and send them to you. Dont list your address here, just send it to me direct: Snelling49@aol.com Be sure to list Legaspi in the subject, I dont open unknown emails. Let me know how you want to handle this Marsha Notify Administrator about this message?
