This seems to be a good posting board for the Costner family. I never dreamed I'd find folks from this lineage other than the locals in Clevleand Co.,NC. I have a pretty good database on the Costner Families. In my database, I had only the (2) marriages for David Jefferson Costner (1st) Mary Scott(2nd) Letha Stevenson. I only had birth dates for both David and Mary Reed and no dates for Letha. Would like to get more details on their marriages/deaths/burials, etc. Where was David and Letha Costner living at their death (Ark or Miss)? I did not locate this family in the Soundex of ARK for 1900/1910 as a Costner family. Would like to know siblings for each wife also. I have a good bit of info and I'm more than willing to share. If you have any type of Genealogy programs we can trade attached GED File Emails.
I have that David Haywood Costner was married about 4 times and has siblings from each marriage. I have some info on some of his siblings but very few. Would like to share info with you.
You also mention Nancy Anna Costner. Can you provide me any more info on her?

(1) Michael Costner (@1803 Lincoln Co,NC- After 1860? NC) maried Amanda Townsend ( @ 1810 Lincoln CO., NC - After 1880 Lincoln Co, NC )
(2) Micael Costner ( 12 Mar 1767 - 14 Jun 1821) married Anna Barbara Rudisill (28 Feb 1769 - 11 Jul 1829). Both Born/Died Lincoln Co., NC
(3) Jacob Costner,Sr (30 May 1726 Germany - 11 Jan 1779 Lincoln Co., NC) Married Elizabeth Brooks Hoyle ( Born @ 1722 VA - 16 Jan 1779 Lincoln Co., NC)
Eariliest ancestor Adam Kastner died 1767 in Tryon Co., NC. He came to America in mid 1740's from Germany on the Ship Patience into Philadelphia, PA. Several more Anestors are back to the mid 1650's if you're interested and are discussed at lenght in the Book mentioned below.
A book was published by Charles L. Costner/Melanie Costner Synder in June 1996 but does not include any Descendants past George R. Costner (Did not list his wife either only his other 2 brothers which was taken mostly from Census records). Book has been reprinted again this year and can be purchased from Charles L. Costner. Since that time I have pieced together these familes from Court house records,OBITS and correspondence with other people in this family. There will be another big reunion in May 1999 (meets every four years) around Dallas,NC. Exact date hasn't been set yet but probably 3rd or 4th week in May.
