Dear Lori Beck, Georg Adam Kastner came to PA in 1748 from Germany. He and his family are found in the records of Christ Lutheran Church, York PA. About 1755 Adam came to Tryon Co. NC--(now Gaston, Lincoln, Cleveland etc counties NC) with Jacob, Peter, Thomas and Mary. Is is uncertain if his son Andrew came to NC. There were Castners in New Jersey who moved on to New York that I recently searched out. There are also other records of Costners in PA. On the 1810 Census is John Costner and John Jr in Bucks County and Lydia Costner on Montgomery Co. In the 1910 Census is Frank Costner age 29 in Bucks Co PA with his wife Rosanna 35 and Daughter Elizabeth 16 Emma Gruft with Son in Law William Costner 44 Bucks Co PA and Grandson Russel Costner 12 James Costner born in GREECE? age 26 in Lackawanna, Scranton, PA on the SSI--not current Blanche Costner PA d Apr 1960 Edna Costner b 10 Mar 1909 PA d Jan 1986 Philadelphia PA Jack Costner b 18 Dec 1911 PA d Jul 1961 William Costner b 31 Dec 1896 MD d Mar 1983 Glen Rock, York, PA William Costner b 27 Mar 1934 PA d Feb 1982 Philadelphia PA Sarah should appear on the 1850 Census with her parents in PA. The census records before that (beginning in 1790) only name the head of household with numbers of age groups etc. I entered my Dad in the DNA database to see if we can find a connection to other spellings on our name. If you are able to piece any of these PA Costners together please share them back. Melanie Costner Snyder candm@animas.net Notify Administrator about this message?
