I am not related to these people and have no further information. There is a piece of information on these people in the Spring 1981 issue of 'Maryland Magazine of Genealogy,' Vol. 4, #1 - Worcester Co., MD, 1796-1802, Liber A, Petitions, Commissions, and Depositions, abstracted by William D. Patrick, Petitions for Division of Decedants' Real Estate, August Court, 1797:
Petition of Isaac and Sally Coston for a commission to divide the real estate of James Mitchell, who died intestate and possessed of landed property near the heads of the Pocomoke River. Petition dated 15 August 1797. Claimants - his brothers John Mitchell, Josiah Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, and sisters Jany Nichols and Betsey Short, and Isaac Mitchell Adams, Samuel Adams a minor son of Saml., and the petitioners, in right of their mother Nancy Adams, deceased, sister to James Mitchell. James Mitchell has been dead near one year and a half and no visible way appears to distribute the property. Josiah Mitchell appointed guardian to the minors."
