I am interested in information on the Coston/Costin/Costens etc, specifically a Henry Costine/Coston who moved to Colleton Co.SC from probably NC. He had some connection with the Lopers in Colleton Co. SC. These Lopers moved to Colleton from Onslow and New Hanover Co. NC and since there are Costin/Coston/Costens in these NC counties, I believe that my Henry came from there soon after the Rev War with the Lopers. Henry Coston applied for his Rev War Pension in the same letter that Dolly Loper was applying for her late husband's pension. Looking at NC Rev War records, I have found this Henry Costen: North Carolina Revolutionary War Soldiers Pierce'S Register Vol. II. Book A.A.-Pages 1-44 Inclusive page 190 Henry Costin, Soldier Pierce'S Register Reference: North Carolina State Records, Clark, Vol. XVI, 1782-1783 page 52 Name and Rank: Costen, Henry, Pt Company: Brown's Pierce'S Register Volume X page 308 No.: 3772. To whom granted and rank: Henry Costen, Pri. No. acres: 640 Service in months: 84 Location and to whom deeded and date of warrant. Within the limits of the lands allotted the officers andsoldiers of the Continental Line, by Law, 1783, Oct. 14: Dec. 23, '92 : d'd Capt. Barnes I would love any information that anyone might have on these Costons/Costins /Costens and/or any clues that might help me find my Henry Costine's origins. Thanks, Susan
