Am looking for descentants of John Wilson(England-Ohio-Central America)born in 1832 and died 1895 Mobile, Alabama.
John Wilson worked on the PANAMA CANAL,formed a firm called Wilson and Don Ilacio in Colon. Was in partnership with Minor C. Keith and built the railroad from Port Limon to San Jose, COSTA RICA. Had banana plantations at Bluefields,NICARAGUA.
He owned the United Fruit Company that was headquartered in Bocas del Toro on Isle Colon, PANAMA. Also had a steamship line that transported fruit to Mobile, Alabama.
Sons: John Wilson, Jr., James S. Wilson, Minor Keith Wilson and Dr. Russell Wilson(a surgeon on the Colombian war ship Pinzon) all worked and lived in Central America. A grandson J. Herbert Wilson, we think married a daughter of a president of COSTA RICA.
Any info would be greatly appreciated on John or his business interests.
Thanks, Penny (a great granddaughter) Las Vegas, Nevada
