JOHN da COSTA born in Bertanha, Sao Miguel; son of Jose da Costa de Vasconcellos and Margarida Pedro Rodrigues, married to Helena de Souza Medeiros, born in Bertanha, Sao Miguel, daughter of Jacintho de Souza and Helena Cordeiro de Medeiros. Is a resident of Makawao for forty-five years. Owns farm and ranch business and other property. Has 15 children: Izabel, Jose, Joao, Antonio, Maria, Rosa, Luiz, Justina, Helena, Catherina, Margarida, Thereza, Justino, Cecilia and Joaquim.

Information received from Portuguese-Hawaiian Memories by J.F. Freitas (Book published in 1930.) John da Costa had 5 more children after 1930.
