Cossitt Family Assoc. Announcement
COSSITT FAMILY ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Board of Directors of the Cossitt Family Association is proud to announce the commencement of the Cossitt Family DNA Surname Project. We have a website set up at Family Tree DNA.Cousin Cam and Cousin James have sent for their DNA test kits and their results will be published on the site as soon as they are available.
We would like to have another male submit DNA for the 37 point test so that there would be three male bench markers for the Family. He should be a direct Cossitt descendent who is from the line of Timothy, John or Alexander. Our present volunteers are direct descendents of Rene and Ruth (Rene Jr. and Francois). Anyone wishing to submit their DNA can order a test kit on the web page where group rate pricing is provided. The site provides information about the benefits of DNA to genealogy studies and the Board of Directors feels this will be a great benefit to discovering more family members and also enable distant Cossitt families to join together in their ancestral searches.
A website has also been set up at World Family Net, you can visit
http://www.wfnforum.net/index.php?board=2128.0http://www.wfnforum.net/index.php?board=2128.0to see the pages, empty now,
but they will soon hold our first test results. There are also forums, message boards, and pedigree listings, DNA information and links for ordering DNA test kits with
the group pricing rates. Your personal Cossitt Pedigree listing are needed for the pedigree page listings, enabling others to see how the branches of the family fit together. Please join us and post your pedigree or if you wish you can submit the information to me and I will post it from the Administrator’s page.
As a member of the Cossitt Family Association we are hoping you will
consider donating your DNA (males only) and visit our new web pages. It has
been the desire of the Directors to enhance our genealogy searches and also
provide tools for enhancing our roots and discovering new lines of adjoining
families. Please send your comments, suggestions and constructive criticisms
to me and most of all become active in searching out your roots. If you need any assistance please contact one of the Board of Directors.
