BERGINS and COSS families. I am not sure of the exeact connection here but there is going to be one I guarantee it. In Waterbury CT was an undertaker in the downtown area and he was a Bergin, (later Martin Bergin and Sons. He handled the deaths of various of my COSS relatives when they died, and most of the funerals were at home with high requeim performed at St Patricks Catholic church in Waterbury, CT. I didn't think a connection was here, but the fact is that my Coss family came from Laois, Ireland about 1850 to first Monroe, Orange, NY, and by 1871 had removed to Waterbury, CT. The earliest known funeral I am aware of is that of Edward Joseph Quinn, in 1892. His wife was Julia A COSS the daughter of Daniel and Hannah (O'BRIEN) COSS. The aforementioned HAnnah and Undertaker Bergin went from Waterbury to Long Island City to claim the body of EJQ. A relationship between these folks must exist.
