The COSS family I am researching is mainly based in Fife, Scotland. However, John COSS b1760 was a sea farer as was his son Thomas b 1782, so they may have sailed to Ireland. I do not know what happened to any of Thomas siblings or where John came from, as I have been concentrating on Thomas (he is my gr x 4 grandfather). If I discover that one sibling ended up in Ireland I will let you know! Perhaps one of the Irish Cosses came to Scotland???? I have some evidence of Cosses in Fife in the 1500s but have been unable to make a link to my family as yet. The name then is often recorded as COIS or COUS.
