I am researching my CASNER line; oldest Ancestor is Jonas Casner who on 7-2-1801 in VA married Nancy Wright. They appear on the 1810 KY census. A Leonard Casner also appears on the 1810 census living near Jonas and may possibly be a brother. The census spells the name Cashman. The name is often spelled Cassner, Castner, Cosner, Carsner - to be consistent, I use Casner. Jonas and Nancy had six children (John/Jack born 10-24-1801 VA,Henry/Harry/harvey born Jonas and Nancy moved their family to MO circa 1818. My specific line is the Henry/Harry/Harvey Casner who married Jincy/Jane/Jencie Fields. Harvey and Jincy had 14 children (13 sons and 1 daughter) I have identified ten sons and the daughter (actually it is the daughter which connects to my direct line). Apparenlty Harvey & family were ran out of MO for sellling whiskey and gamblilng on Sunday; they went to IA where Harvey died; but Jincy and some of her sons were ran out of IA; one of the sons was in jail in IL but he broke out; the family was ran out of IA. They went to OR 1850-1860; two of the sons apparently got in a fight over a woman; so some of the sons went to AZ. They are found in the mines in CA, herding sheep in TX, farming and raising horses in AZ, in NM and who knows where else. Two of the brothers were murdered in TX in 1872; later two other brothers murdered about nine people in retalliatoin. If anyone thinks they might be connected to this line, I would like to hear from you.
