Hi again,
My grandmother's sister-in-law was a Ruane (she pronounced it roo'-on).
I have a copy of the written down from the oral genealogy of the Cosgroves. When I find it I will send along to your email address.
Everyone with relatives from the Barony of Erris should get
"Where the Sun Sets" by Father Sean Noone, Erris Publications, Pollathomas, Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland.
It contains info of families and events from The Erris parishes of Kilcommon, Belmullet, Kiltane (yours) and Ballycroy. It mentions several Ruanes from Tristia (Mt. Jubilee). My grandmother's godfather was Anthony Cosgrove.
Richard
