Dear Richard:Thanks for your reply.A great or great-great aunt of mine was married to Anthony Cosgrove, and had a daughter named Bridget. They, however, lived in Minnesota...homesteaded there in the early 1850s.Anthony Cosgrove had been previously married to a Margaret McNutlty, who died in Ireland, I think. He married Ann Rowan Cosgrove abt. 1848/49/1850.The Rowans came from Foxford, Co. Mayo, landing in NYC on Feb. 26, 1847.They were in NY for a few years, then maybe to Canada (there are Cosgroves in Canada), and then Illinois, and then to homestead in Greenvale, MN, which is in the south/west corner of Dakota Co., Minnesota.I had a feeling the Cosgroves were from Mayo -- because the Rowans (Ruane, in Mayo) were.If you have any other interesting info, let me know.My e-mail add. is:[email protected] live in Anchorage, Alaska, and yes, it is cold today...winter came a bit early this year, darn. Not good for an ol' southern Calif. lady!!Thanks again, Patty Murphy Harpel.(Wish I could find out where the Murphys came from in Ireland!)
