COSBY/COZBY/CAUSBY/CROSBY SURNAME IN AL IN 1800'S

I have posted my request for information on this family on every available forum I can think of...and still no answers. The information below is long but as simple as I can make it and it is still confusing. Please read and if anyone can furnish any help, I'd be extremely grateful.

POSTED ON COSBY LIST YESTERDAY, JULY 11TH:
Looking for information on the following gentleman whose full legal identity has been extremely hard to pin down. Those of us working on this ancestor agree that though the records aren't exact, we believe him to be one and the same person. His father was James Cosby/Cozby and his mother was Ann Brown. Ann was the 2nd wife of James; the first was Rebecca Rachel Felton.

We believe our ancestor is shown in various documents as:

1850 Blount Co AL census..........Uriah COSBY born ca 1846 AL
1860 Blount Co AL census..........Uriah CAUSBY, born ca 1846 AL
1870 Census ............................Unable to locate, but wife Sarah CROSBY & son James W (b 1869 AL) are shown in Morgan Co AL. Record shows Sarah as BLIND
This Sarah is believed to be Sarah Wilson; the death record of one son states mother's maiden name as Wilson. Sarah believed to have died after 1889 in GA or AL.

1880 Chattooga Co GA.............. Hugh W CROSBY, born ca 1846 AL with wife Sarah (shown as BLIND), sons James W; Milton; Lafayette; and John G. Between 1880 and 1889, 3 more children are born to them.... Frank in 1882, Mary Callie in 1883, and Marion Isaac in 1889.

1890 Census Records destroyed
1900 Jackson Co AL..................Hugh CROSBY, born Dec 1846 AL with new wife, Mary M and sons Frank; Marion Isaac; John. Also shown is new son-in-law Andrew Flippo (written as Flipps) and a step-son, James E. Terry

1910 Jackson Co AL...............N W COSBY, born ca 1842 AL; wife M M; grandchildren Annie Flippo and Lawrence Flippo

U W COZBY married M E Terry March 1899 Jackson Co AL per AL marriage record. The 1900 Jackson Co AL census mentions this. But all census records show her as Mary M or M M...not M.E.

Military Records:
Uriah W COZBY, company H, 63rd AL Inf.; Private
N W. COZBY, company H & A, 63rd AL Inf., Private
N W. Cozby shown again 2 more times in Company A, 63rd AL Inf; Private

Uriah William COSBY, death date Dec 19, 1918 in Jefferson Co AL per AL Death Records.
Uriah William COSBY, buried in Clay Cemetery in Jefferson Co AL. His son, Alpha Lafayette COSBY is also buried there.

Does anyone have information on any of the above people? Can anyone prove or disprove that this is not the same person? Would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help with this dilema.

Paula
