It looks as though your family was from the area of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. You mention that your grandfather, born in western Pennsylvania in 1905, had siblings named Alfred, Audrey, and Thaddeus. On the web at

you will find the obituary of an Alfred Corwin, born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, in 1937-8, with a sister "Audra'" and a brother Thaddeus. It sounds as though he may have been a nephew of your grandfather.
