i am helping a friend in trying to locate family information on her grandfather Herman Douglas Cortez.
i have limited information on him, i know he was a merchant marine and lived in the new york area, i don't have his exact dob but i do know he was around 24 years old when he died in 1919 or 1920, when the ship he was on blew up in the harbor in amsterdam. he was married to Francis Barrett Hewitt.any information that could be provided would in locating family members would be greatly appreciated.
