Hello, looking for any information on any Cortez family in Augusta. My great-grandfather Elijah Hicks was married in Richmond County to a Virginia Cortez on July 26, 1879. Trying to determine where these Cortez's were from and their nationality outside the obvious. Were they Spanish, Native American or both? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
