I am interested in the Corso's of Kansas City because my great grandmother, Carmella Corso Russo (1851-1940) and her husband Phillipo Russo (1857-1929) came to Kansas City around 1885.Why they would come that far west is a mystery to me except that there must have been other Corso's or relatives in the area.
I was able to get the birth certificate of my grandmother, Providenza Russo, who was born to Phillipo and CArmella in Kansas City in 1888.They later moved briefly to St. Louis, then to Hartford Conn in the early 1890's and then to Providence, Rhode Island.Carmella's two other sons were vaudeville performers (Leo Russo, pupetteer and James (Salvatore)Russo of the Russell and O'Neill Dance Act.
