Asa Corser, son of William Corser and Ann Carter, b. Boscawen, NH 26 June 1754, m. Jane Fitzgerald later moving to Thetford Vermont. Their children were: Susan, Mehitable, Sally and William -- does anyone have info on Asa who supposedly died in Thetford? Or any of his descendants? Note: Asa was a Revolutionary War vet serving at both the Battle of Bunker Hill and the Battle of Bennington. Maj. Alfred Little memorialized Asa in his poem written for the Boscawen's centennial celebration as follows: "A noble Boscawen dame (Her name I'll ever prize), When she saw the boys a-coming, Filled her oven with pumpkin pies; Half a pie to each one Our good aunt Hannah gave, Drummer Corser said he'd 'take one, And give half to brother Dave!" The allusion is more fully explained in a note appended to the poem, as follows: "David Corser ... one of the Bennington soldiers from Boscawen, was not present to receive his half of a pumpkin pie, and -- concerning his hungry brother (sic. cousin), 'drummer, Corser,' we will not in-sin-u-ate, but it has ever been a question with Boscawen people -- did 'brother Dave' get his half of a pumpkin pie??" The "good aunt Hannah" was the wife of Enoch Little." Does anyone know what happened to "drummer Corser" and his descendants?
