Kent,

Are you still searching for descendants of John McDill Corsbie?

My wife, Susan Stumpp Anderson, is the daughter of Halana Crosbie (note the difference in spelling)(b.1912,d.1999)(m. Gustav Adolph Stumpp), who was a daughter of Paul Pembroke Crosbie (b.1881,d.1949), who was a son of Hadley Marshall Crosbie (b.1848,d.1924), who was a son of John McDill Corsbie (b.1822,d.1915) and Matilda Frazier (b.1828,d.1919).

I'm the "genealogist" in the family and today, on a lark, decided to "Google" John McDill Corsbie. It led me to your 2001 message.

Furthermore, my information is that John McDill Corsbie was the son of Thomas Corsbie (b.1796,d.1838), who was a son of James William Crosbie (note the difference in spelling again)(b.1760,d.?), who was a son of Hance Crosbie (b.1740,d.1809) and Ann McDill (b.1741, d.?). Hance and Ann were names asked about in response to your 2001 message.

Crosbie family "lore" is that 2 generations spelled the name Corsbie but no one knows why.

Charlie Anderson
