I have also been researching my surname, Correll. I have a direct descendent, Theodore Correll (b. 4/26/18974 in Vermillion Co., Ill.) whose father I am interested in. His father (my great-grandfather) was John Correll, bd unknown, but who died in 1880. I really want to find my way back to the direct line ancestor who immigrated, and find out from where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have Theodore's (my grandfather) linage, but lack even a state with which to research for John.
