Correia as Middle Name-Azores
Posted by: Greg Lima Date: March 03, 2000 at 21:43:41

My great grandfather, named Manuel Correia Lima, was born on Graciosa Island in approximately 1838. He had 5 sons, Manuel, Joao, Tristao, Antonio, and Jose. Manuel, I believe the oldest son, emigrated to Brazil. Joao died as a young child. Antonio and Jose, my grandfather, immigrated to California...Antonio to Santa Barbara and Jose near Santa Maria.

Jose married Mariana Brebes in 1905, and they had 6 children, my father being the youngest.

I have no other information regarding Correia relatives. Since it is heavily used as a middle name (my grandfather and all of his brothers had Correia for their middle name), I can only surmise I am related to Correias in some manner.

Does anyone have any clues as to how I might be related to the Correia family?

Thank you.
