Actually it's not that common. Not even close to others like Oliveira, Varela, Pinto.
I live in Portugal and I don't listen to the name Correia that often.
I believe the reason of this might be the high emigration rate that we suffered some decades ago. Which also explains the existence of Correia's in all the "New World".
