Aloha Everyone,
I am hoping that someone can help me in my search.. I am looking for my great great grandparents.. I have just received my great great grandmothers death certificate and now I know the names... Her name was Mary (Maria) Correa (dont know maiden name) and her husband was John Correa. They came from Madeira, Portugal to hawaii about 1888-1892.
I cant seem to find them on the ship list. on her death certificate it says that her birth date is about 1836 that is all she died on: June 17, 1932 in Honolulu, Hawaii. They were both born in Madeira. I heard from my grandmother that her mother Maria Correa (same name as mother) came here with her parents when she was little. But her birthdate is feb.8,1879 and she was born in portugal also. My grand mother remembers her mother having sisters but dont know there names. She is now 87 years old and her memory is going.. I just want to know if anyone has any info on this family?
Maria married John Correa in portugal
and had Maria Correa (and more kids but dont know there names) that married Mathias Baptista and they had 15 kids here in hawaii.
If anyone knows any info please let me know I feel that I am in a dead end right now...
