G'day all,
I am seeking information regarding my GG Grand father, John Kestle Born about 1796. He married, I believe Eleanor Mannell and they had 7 children being William Kestle 1826–, Henry Kestle 1827– , Elizabeth Kestle 1830– ,Ulilea Kestle 1831– , John Manell KESTLE (my G Grandfather) 1833–1912, Thomas Kestle 1837– and Lydia Kestle 1839– .
I got this information from the 1841 Census and put two and two together hopefully to give me four, I hope. The details given in this Census about John Kestle Snr was born: Cornwall, England Civil Parish: St Breock
Hundred: Pyder
John Mannell Kestle's death certificate gives no other details about his parents other than the fact that his father's name was John, his mother's name was Eleanor. The Mannell family were next door neighbours of the Kestle's were Mannell's and they had a daughter, Eleanor.
I have been succesful in going further back with the Mannell family however, no further back with the Kestle branch of the family.
Could someone please assist me with more details relating to the John Kestle born circa 1796. Parents, siblings, any thing that may get me over this hurdle?
There is no mention of his name or details other than on the 1841 census that I have been able to locate. There is a very strange absence of the Kestle name on Marriage, birth, Christenings, etc, on the Cornwall Online Parish Clerks.
