In the 1880 Maine census, Charles "Conforth" is listed in Fairfield, Somerset Co., as age 60, with: Mary age 60, Charles E., age 23 and Kate Walker, grandaughter, age 5 (all born in Maine).

As you to your question "do these people connect to the Waterville line?", the answer is, quite probably. The immigrant ancester of the Waterville line was Robert, who came to America in 1797 and lived in Readfield and Unity, Maine (he died in Rhode Island). His descendants that I have traced who stayed in Maine were in the following towns: Oakland, New Portland, Springfield, Carroll, Unity, and Industry, as well as Waterville.
