There is a Byrd Curnut listed on the 27th School District of Jefferson Co., TN. in 1842 as having 4 children from age 6 to 21 enrolled in school. I know the surname is often spelled many different ways. Could these two "Byrds" be one and the same?

I am looking for a Mary CORNETT that married JAMES TRAVIS on Aug. 08, 1857 in Jefferson Co., TN. Can anyone help here? Thanks!
