I looked again at Putnam Co, GA death certificates ... found one for Wallace A. Cornett; died Nov 12, 1925; age 73 yrs, 4 mos, 26 days. Lists wife as "Martha Cornett"; birthplace as GA. However, informant (E. L. Sellers of Willard, GA) did not know name of either of Mr. Cornett's parents or their birthplaces. Burial was at Reids Chappell.
1870 Census for Fannin Co, GA, shows HH #687 ... Clara Cornett, age 39; Wallace Cornett-19; Thomas-16; Rebeca-14; Joseph-10; Jacob-9; John-6; George-3; James-2 mos. The 1860 census for Fannin Co, GA shows HH #289 ... Louisa Cornett, age 35; Walace-8; Newton-6; Rebecca-5; Joseph G.-2. The older children in 1870 appear to be same as the children in 1860 - but different name for mother??
Also, in the 1880 census for Gilmer Co (as transcribed by the LDS, which weren't always accurate with spellings!), I found: Wallice Cornell, age 26; wife Martha, age 25; Stephens B.-5; Thomas H.-4; Mary A.-7 mos. They lived in Cherry Log, which is where parents of Martha Watkins lived.
Thus it appears that Martha Watkins married Wallace Cornett. Comments, anyone?
