Re: Corners of Leicestershire/Derbyshire

I wandered back to this forum after a very long absence.
A search found me the old thread here, so I thought I would look again into the possible connection of the two groups of Corners, Hose and Dalby, although very likely it is too late to be of any use for Bill Corner. A decade later, so much more information has exploded on line.
Walter James Corner's grandfather was Joseph Corner. In the 1891 census:
Name: Joseph Corner
Age: 65
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1826
Relation: Head
Where born: Hickling, Nottinghamshire, England
Civil Parish: Dalby on the Wolds
Ecclesiastical parish: Old Dalby
Town: Old Dalby
County/Island: Leicestershire
Joseph Corner 65
Walter J Corner 14
Harriet E Corner 8

Joseph Corner, son of Joseph and Elizabeth, baptised 1825 in Hickling.
Hickling is halfway between Nottingham and Melton Mowbray, in a NW to SE diagonal line.
In 1881, Joseph was a farmer of 91 acres, his wife older than him:
Name: Martha Corner
Age: 68
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1813
Relationship to Head: Wife
Spouse: Joseph Corner
Where born: Old Dalby, Leicestershire, England
Marriages Dec 1849
Corner Joseph Melton Mowbray 15 365
Holwell Martha Melton Mowbray 15 365
Old Dalby, Long Clawson and Hose are just to the west, or basically adjacent. We're all cousins not to distantly back, I think. !
