Hi Thom....thanks for the reply. My Grand father Hunter Corner came from a very large family and judging from the picture of the castle on Drummond Road in Inverness, a wealthy family. He was born Oct. 14, 1882 and apparently left home when he was fourteen. He served in the Boer War in South Africa which went from 1889 to 1902. Then came to North America. Story tells it that they were herding horses from Kansas to the Klondike but winter set in and they lost the horses and ended up in the Kispiox vally for the winter and prospected that part of the country. He enlisted for the first WW on Sept. 19,1915 and spent the war in France and lost a leg near the end of the conflict.
I also beleave that all these Corners are related as my father was alway hunting them down and connecting, unfortunatly I never paid any attention. I beleave they were originally from Ireland. Though I have a picture of my Grandfather and his wife in his milliary uniform wearing a Kilt, which must have been taken just before he left for WW 1. My father mention this murder that happenedin Canada in the Corner family but I'm not sure if it was a close connection or not. Please send me an email on the details of what you have
