regarding the cornelson in kansas, my grand father was raised by the cornelson family at the gnadenau community south of Hillsboro Kansas he was born 10/10/1887. the house that my father lived in as a young boy is now a state park and historical site in Hillsboro Kansas, called the ADOBE HOUSE. the gnadenau community had several families, one of which was the Jacob Cornelson family, this is the family that adopted my grandfather and raised him. This community, composed of Mennonite's, immigrated to this country from Russia landing in New York July 15, 1874 they came over on the ship SS City of Brooklyn. These people were the ones to introduce the turkey red wheat to this country. I have been unable to find information on my grandfather's mother but believe she was tied in some way to the cornelson family. I have a great deal more information regarding this community and the other families that lived there. if interested please feel free to call me at (623) 939-1385, or write me at.

I am anxious to learn anything I can about the Cornelson's in Kansas.
