Ancestral lineage claim for Thomas Cornell (b. 1595)
At the website http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/m/c/c/Laurie-Fletcher-Mccall/http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/m/c/c/Laurie-Fletcher-Mccall/ there is a family tree showing lineages for Thomas Cornell (b. 1595) and Rebecca Briggs (b. 1600) that go much further back than anything else I've seen in Cornell discussion forums. It terminates with "R. Plantagenet," and it is clear from a few simple checks of this and the next name in line (Geoffrey de Cornwall), that this Plantagenet would be Richard, grandson of King John.
Unfortunately there is no documentation associated with the PDF files on the site. I've emailed the author for info, but I was wondering if anyone else was familiar with this lineage and the evidence or documentation pro/con on it.
The basic line from 'Cornell' to 'Cornwell/Cornwalle' to 'de Cornwall' seems plausible enough, but without better documentation it seems to be assuming too much. Thanks for any feedback!
