BEERS, 1880 ======================================= M. de Lafayette Cornell was born in Middlebury, Wyoming Co., NY, in 1844. His fahter was born at Newcastle, Westchester Co., NY, Jan. 18th, 1801. He lived after the age of twenty-four successively in New York City; Seneca Co., and Middlebury, and came to Bennington, Wyoming Co., NY in 1849 and bought his present farm. He married ANNE H. DILLINGHAM, in 1823. This lady, the daughter of Henry Dillingham, of Westchester Co.(who died in 1813), is a lineal descendant of the Strangs, who fled from France during the Catholic persecution, his mother having been Jerusha Strang. M. de Lafayette Cornell married EDITH L. PORTER, Dec. 25th, 1879. With the aid of his brother he has invented a useful and ingenious device for mounting window curtains. ------------------------------------------- I am not researching this family.
