I just learned from an aunt who is 82 years old and the last remaining sibling of her family (father Spencer Cornelius of Bradford, PA) that this aunt's mother said the Cornelius name used to be "Tice". I have not been able to trace our family further back from Tobias Cornelius of Alfred, NY. Now I wonder if this might have a bearing on why we are not in the Cornelius family book.
Spencer's wife, Inez Buchanan Cornelius, was the family historian and left records of every birth, death, marriage in her family and her husband's, so I don't dismiss anything she may have passed on to her daughter. Just something to consider, Cornelius searchers.
