Gerrit & Mattheus Brothers?

Are any on this site decendants of Mattheus Cornelison Van Nieuwkirk?
Gerrit Cornelissen VanNieuwkirk came to America from Holland on ship Moesman in 1659.
He was accompanied by wife, suckling babe and 12 year old boy thought to be his brother.
My research shows Gerrit obtained 36 acres in Midwout LI (Flatbush/Brooklyn) in 1661 and that Mattheus settled in NJ, and that many of his decendants adopted surname of Cornelison as well as Matheuson & variations of Newkirk.
I had theory that todays Cornelisons were decendants of Mattheus and communicated with some Cornelisons who claimed to be decendants of Cornelis VanNieuwkirk b. 1603 in Holland (father of Gerrit & Mattheus Cornelissen VanNieuwkirk) but reluctant to accept connection to todays Newkirks.
Recently I happened on to the following site that confirms connection.

_Homestead_Enos_Place.htm

Any thoughts about this theory?
