Fran, at that late date (1889) The Corn family may have pretty well left Patrick Co, VA. IF you think yours may be part of that bunch, try and figure out their miggrato9ry trail to WVA. Seems I read on the Forum that some Corns were in Gallia Co. Ohio. That's right on the Ohio -W. VA border. Alsi Wayne Co. is on the Kentucky border, so check out the Kentucky Corns. They went to Mercer Co., KY in REV WAR times. Being right on the border there, they may have gone back and forth a lot. If our ancestors would just stay where we think they were, this would be a piece of cake, but playing detective is part of the fun. (I guess) Good luck! Mary --ps--Have you checked 1900 census to see if they are in Wayne Co. ? That should tell you where they were born and what state their parents were born.
