Gary, glad you put all that on-line. Just a few things to clear up. Jesse Corn's son, Samuel b. 10 April 1792 married Permelia Burnett in Patrick co Va. Permelia died of inflammation of bowels, Franklin Co. TN 1850.(TN Mortality Schedules) Samuel Corn, age 58,with children, no wife was in Franklin Co. TN 1850 census. Refer to Jesse's pension application for paragraph of testimony by brother-in law, McVhutchon and notice Samuel Corn, son of Jesse and Nancy was residing in Franklin Co TN at that time. His will was probated in Franklin Co., TN 1852. The Samuel Corn who married Mary Slaughter, I believe (but have not proved) was the son of Jesse's brother, Samuel. I will refer to him as Samuel Jr for now, just to try and keep them straight)Samuel Jr. was born in VA 25 Feb 1790. The Source of this birthdate is from: FAMILY RECORDS, BIBLE RECORDS AND CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS, compiled by CORPUS CHRISTI CHAPTER, D.A.R.(1958-1959 pg 17, CORN-SLAUGHTER, Marie Koger Gordon, Independence MO, now owns the Samuel Corn Bible and has notorized as true the following: Samuel Corn, born Feb 25, 1790 AGES OF CHILDREN OF SAMUEL AND MARY SLAUGHTER CORN These records were copied for Independence Pioneer Chapter D.A.R. June 10, 1936 Also John Slaughter's will in Patrick Co. 1849, mentions daughter, Mary Corn, son-in-law, Samuel Corn and grandsons, John and Martin. Samuel and Mary Slaughter Corn moved to Jackson Co., Mo abt 1833. They are in 1850 census there, (Samuel, age 60) with sons Jushua and Samuel. John S. Corn and Martin Corn are also listed, with their familys. Samuel Corn (MO) Intestate records state he died 1854 Jackson Co. MO. I hope this clears up some confusion over Samuel Corn who married Mary Slaughter and Jessies Samuel in TN. I still hope someone has information on who are th parents of Samuel in MO.
