Joseph Corns 1850, Lafayette Co. WI

1850 Census Lafayette Co., WI page 397, list Joseph Corns 33, Ohio; Mary 32, Tenn.; Iassic C. 9, Ind.; Aurelius 7, Ind.; Joseph 6, Ill.; and Philo B. Dixon 63, Vt.

1860 Census Lafayette Co., WI page 784, list Mary 43, Domestic, Tenn.; Calvin 21, Mining, Ind.; Aurelius 18, Mining, Ind.; JOSEPHINE 16, (female), WISC.; and Mary Blackstone 22, school teacher, unknown.

I know Joseph Corns married Mary Hamilton in Carroll Co., Indiana on the 8th day of February 1838. Living next door to Mary in 1860 is Thomas Hamilton, 36, Tenn. farmer and the rest of his family. Suspect this is a brother to Mary.

Aurelius Corn(e)s (b. Sept 16, 1840 Strawtown, Hamilton Co., IN; d. May 4, 1914 Tippecanoe Co., IN) entered the Civil War at Freeport, IL. I have copies of his military records. After the war, he went to Tippecanoe Co., IN, married Esther Antrim Dec. 31, 1867 (b. Sept 10, 1851 Battle Ground, Tippecanoe Co., IN; d. Nov 29, 1934, Battle Ground, IN), and raised a large family. Aurelius is my g-grandfather. Both he and Esther are buried in Colburn, Tippecanoe Co. IN.

Anyone know what happened to Joseph or Mary, who their parents are, or the rest of this family.

Joyce
