Funeral services for John Nelson Corn will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Richard Corn. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Asbill, Dustin Asbill, Michael Paul Corn, Franklin Wayne Corn,

John Nelson Corn was born January 20, 1923 in Moodys, Oklahoma, one of eight children born to Paul H. Corn and Indianola (Hartness) Corn. John passed away in Muskogee, Oklahoma on November 16, 2010 at the age of 87.
He was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, growing up in Moodys and living in Tahlequah. John began working at an early age. He worked in a Civilian Conservation Corps camp before entering the United States Navy. John served in the Navy during WW II as a gunner. After his service with the Navy, he signed with the Merchant Marine.
For the majority of his life, John worked as an auto mechanic in Tahlequah.
John has been preceded in death by his parents; his wife Irene (Woodard) Corn; two infant sons, Bill Corn and Benny Corn; three brothers, Lewis Corn; James "JW" Corn; and Russell Corn; two sisters, Lucille Stansill and Pauline Riggs.
He is survived by his children, Johnny Lynn Corn and Glenda of Arkansas; Carolyn Lewelling and Odis of Stratford, Oklahoma; Mike Corn and Deb of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Judy Asbill and Earnie of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and Robert Allen Corn also of Muskogee, Oklahoma; his brother, Richard Corn; a sister, Stella Hanesworth; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many other friends and his special nurse Heather. He will be missed by all.
