Bonnita, I finally got to your message. It is after I received your email regarding the Betty FeasterKuykendall who married a Kuykendall and she is not me.
I have spent a good part of this day searching the Feaster records but I had some difficulty with Thornton Feaster's family.
I learned that his full name is Elmer Thornton Feaster born Sept 24 1883 in Maysville, Grant Co. West Virginia and
died May 1969. Last residence Maysville, Grant, WVa
He registered for WWI and WWII as Elmer Thornton Feaster. On his WWII application age 58, he list a Mrs. Virginia Feaster as a person who would always know where he was.She was of the same address.Who is she?I found his Social Security number on the Social SecurityDeath Index and you can order a copy of his application if you would like to have it for your records.
I was never able to locate Thornton with either a wife named Stella or Virginia. However, I could not find all of his census records.Someone may be able to contact the Health Department in Maysville to confirm the birth of your Betty Feaster who married an unknown Kuykendall.
There ia s John E. Kuykendall age 22 single living in Milroy, Grant Co. WVa in 1920 where I have found other Feasters. His mother is (looks like Missouri Kuykendall, head of household age 50 born WVa. widow. There is also a daughter (looks like Eloise Kuykendall) age 15.They were all born in WVa.
This could be a good lead,But I haven't searched for the husband of Missouri? yet.
Now to your other questions:
Sarah Kuykendall who married Robert McMinn and had a daughter Mary Elizabeth.I only had the daughter's name as Mary.Do yo have a confirmation of Mary Elizabeth?Perhaps you know that Sarah is the daughter of James and Mary (Hambright?) Kuykendall, son of old Abraham of Flat Rock, NC and that Robert McMinn is the son of John A. and Elizabeth (Robinson) McMinn, son of Robert and Jane (Kuykendall) McMinn. She is daughter of old Abraham.I have that Sarah's daughter Mary married Joseph Treadway but I do not have that confirmed.
As you probably already know, it wasn't unusual for cousins to marry so unless someone can find a marriage license for Hannah Josephine Corn to a cousin of the same surname, the two children may not have a legal father.
Tell me more about Maybelle Corn Purkey.I was unaware of Hannah marrying before or after Thomas Brewer died.
Josephine is on the 1930 Knoxville, Knox Co. TN census age 66 widow living with her daughter Daisy and husband William
Cole and family. In 1930 Thomas H. Brewer age 78 is living with William O. Brewerand listed as his father.I don't know for sure if this is Hannah Josephine's husband or not but I do know that Thomas H. Brewer had been married previosly and I can only guess that William O.Brewer is his son by his first wife.
Hannah Joseph died in Knoxville, Knox Co. TN 19 June 1938.I never saw her with any other husband.
Hope something I have listed will be helpful.
Betty K. Price
