Edwin, In post number 1705 at this site, I posted some excerpts from the minutes of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Henderson, NC. The minutes were dated from about 1838 to 1841 and they mention a Noah P. Corn who was ordained and became the minister at Ebenezer. I thought that he was probably Noah Parr Corn, a son of John Peter Corn (the Revolutionary soldier), since John Peter is buried in that cemetery. However, the Ebenezer Church minutes are 35-40 years after the founding of the Mud Creek Church that you mention--that you say also involved a Noah Parr Corn. When was your Noah Parr Corn born? I'm guessing around 1780 if he helped found a church in 1804-05, but I would think that the one in the Ebenezer minutes was probably born around 1810-1820. I'm confused! Can you or some one else out there set me straight? Also, I thought I ran across an article saying that Noah Parr Corn adopted a full blooded Cherokee as his son. But I haven't been able to find that in my notes. Have you heard this? Janice Nolin Notify Administrator about this message?
