I was told by someone that during the Civil War, Solomon Smith Corn enlisted in Company A, 6th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry in Hiawassee, GA. I can't find his name on any muster rolls, though. Has anyone got any info?
I did find this info in the 65th Georgia Infantry Regiment:

ARMY OF TENNESSEE, C. S. A.
Beginning as the 'First Georgia Partisan Rangers,' on May 21, 1862, this unit's name was changed on July 1, 1862, to 'Smith's Legion, Georgia Partisan Rangers.' The unit consisted of a Cavalry and Infantry Battalion.
The Cavalry Battalion, consisting of six companies, raised some of its members from Union, Polk, Floyd, Gilmer and Towns counties. It was attached to the Department of East Tennessee and was involved in the Kentucky Champaign. In the spring of 1863, the Cavalry Battalion merged with the 6th Georgia Cavalry Regiment. Its commanders were LtColonel John R. Hart and Major Benjamin F. Brown.
The Infantry Battalion recruited many of its men from Gilmer, Fannin, Floyd, Lumpkin, Union, Pickens, White, Towns, and Habersham counties. Assigned to the Department of East Tennessee, it served in Kentucky and later was stationed in Cumberland Gap and Loudon, Tennessee. During the spring of 1863, the Infantry Battalion merged into the 65th Georgia Infantry Regiment.

I, in exchange for James J. Humphries, Mar. 25, 1863. Absent without leave Mar. 16-Apr. 16, 1863. Nurse in Fair Ground Hospital, Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 1863. Sick in Rome, Ga., hospital, Nov. 26, 1863. Deserted Feb. 22, 1864.
Corn, Jasper N -- Private in Inf. Battn., Smith's Legion, Ga. Vols., Feb. 8, 1863. Transferred to Co. G, 65th Regt. Ga. Inf., Mar. 1863. Sick in Frank Ramsey Hospital, Loudon, Tenn., June 30, 1863. Died of pneumonia at Cassville, Ga., hospital, Dec. 9, 1863.
Corn, John -- Private in Inf. Battn., Smith's Legion, Ga. Vola., Jan. 1, 1863. Transferred to Co. G, 65th Regt. Ga. Inf., Mar. 1863. Deserted Mar. 12, 1863. Reported to have joined another regi. ment in Virginia. No later record.
Corn, George H. -- Private Inf. Battn., Smith's Legion, Ga. Vols. June 17, 1862. Transferred to Co. F. 65th Regt. Ga. Inf. Mar 18G3. In Loudon, Tenn., hospital Aug. 31, 1863. Deserted Nov 25, 1863. Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Govt. Mar. 17, 1864.
Chastain, William E -- Private in Inf. Battn., Smith't; Legion, Ga. Vols., Sept. 27, 1862. Transferred to Co. G, 65th Regt. Ga. Inf. Mar. 1863; to Co. 1, Mar. 25, 1863. Deserted Mar. 30, 1863, and reported to have enlisted in another unit at Castle Pinckney, Charleston, S. C.
